First DUI

Have you recently been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI)? In Washington, the legal limit for driving under the influence of alcohol is 0.08%. Charges for driving under the influence vary depending on the driver’s blood alcohol level.

For a first time offense with a blood alcohol content between 0.08% and 0.15%:

  • Minimum 24 hours in jail, up to 1 year
  • Up to $5,000 in fines
  • 90 day license suspension
  • Required Interlock Ignition Device (IID)

For a first time offense with a blood alcohol content greater than 0.15%:

  • Minimum 48 hour jail time, up to 1 year
  • Up to $5,000 in fines
  • 1 year driver license revocation
  • Required Interlock Ignition Device
